More Thank You Cards

As I mentioned previously, I am taking part in a card swap that Danielle is doing on the Fiskateers web site. I am supposed to make 10 thank you cards for the swap. Here are two more that I have made this week.

I have been wanting to do something with a patchwork look so last night I started cutting and laying out pieces of patterned paper until I got a look that I liked. After I had everything affixed, I did zigzag stitching where the papers meet on the sewing machine. The paper is from Debbie Mumm Baby Boy 4.5 x 6.5 premium pack with glitter. The sentiment was done on the computer on cardstock. I used my Cricut to cut the squares -- love the center point feature on my Cricut. Then I topped it off with a Prima flower stack, a K & Company button brad and Sheer Creations ribbon that I got at Michaels.

Robin was cleaning out magazines and books recently and I appropriated a stack of old Paper Crafts magazines because they have lots of ideas for cards in them. I scrap lifted the idea for this card from the August/September 2006 issue (the designer was Susan Neal). I raided my stash of paper scraps for the paper (waste not, want not) and then did a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine where the two papers meet. The sentiment was stamped with a Kathy Davis Inkadinkado stamp and I cut the squares on my Cricut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. I finished it off with a Prima flower stack and a rhinestone brad from Gina K.

I am going to browse through some more magazine issues tonight for new ideas after I do a little blogging. The heat wave we are having just saps every bit of energy that I have so I plan to crawl in bed with a book pretty early tonight. But cooler weather is in the forecast for later in the week -- hooray!

Luck, love and laughter,

Judy

Page Plans Card Sketch #15

I swear Page Plans card sketch #15 was addictive for me. I made not one, not two, but three cards using the sketch today.
*
They are all thank you cards; I am participating in a card swap on the Fiskateers web site and I have to make 10 thank you cards for the swap.
*
Also, I did the blue and brown one for the August color combo challenge at Scrap City. The challenge is to use blue, brown and beige. Okay, I know it is not a layout but I am into cards right now so I substituted a card for a layout.

Estate Sale Find

My DH went to an estate sale today and came home with this really neat old set of alphabet rubber stamps. The set is complete -- all letters and numbers are there and has punctuation marks, mathmetical signs, etc. It is in really fantastic condition. I just love it.

Blog Candy Alert

I found this site while browsing. Check out Lashell's blog and her super blog candy RAK. Be sure to mention that I sent you. No Regrets..Just Blessings is her site.

3 Lil' Girls

I am trying to devote a little time each day to learning more about my Cricut and just exactly what I can do with each cartridge. I was playing around with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge making cuts and thought why not use these practice cuts on a layout. The paper is from a glitter stack and I added some flowers and a couple of rhinestone brads. Everything else was cut on the Cricut.

The pics are shots of Addison and Sarabeth with my little great-niece Raegan.

Luck, love and laughter,

Judy

Tamara's Card Sketch #55

Here is a card using Tamara's Card Sketch #55 which she posted this week.

Paper from my scrap paper stash; Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge; yarn from a stash that I bought at LSS yard sale; K & Company flower brads; K 7 Company butterfly.

Have a great weekend. It is hot, hot, hot here in Arkansas and no relief in site over the weekend with triple digit temps and heat index in the forecast. So I plan to stay inside where it is cool.

Luck, love and laughter,

Judy
