New Scrapping Toy

There was a question in the latest issue of the Cricut CHIRP Newsletter about what adhesive to use when applying small letters and figures to a project. This got my immediate attention as this is something that I have struggled with and consequently do not use my Cricut as much as I should when making cards. I have had a terrible time adhering small letters. It was suggested that Quickie Glue by Sakura be used since it is a pen type dispenser that dispenses a very fine line of glue. Well, I got on line and ordered some but I knew I wouldn't have it by this weekend. Since I have a 3 day weekend, I really wanted to try it. My hubby was going to be out and about this afternoon and I asked him to go by my local scrapbooking store and see if they had any.

When I got home from work, I asked Ronny if he was able to get me the Quickie Glue. He told me they didn't have any but I should go look on my desk. There was a sack sitting on my scrapbooking desk and inside was this 1.5" Xyron create-a-sticker.

He said the ladies at the scrapbook store said it was the "best thing since sliced bread" and he is so proud of himself for getting it for me. So I am going to play around with it this weekend. Who knows, if I really like it, maybe I can talk him into getting me a larger one!

Luck, love and laughter,

Judy

Judy, you give your husband a huge kiss right now, because the X is the best thing since sliced bread! RUB on top of your letters before you remove the clear sheet. It will make a huge difference, and it will eliminate you getting those "webs" of adhesive in small spaces (the inside of a letter a, r, p, b, d, etc.)

You might still want to pick up a glue pen too, because I love them, but you're going to love this X. Your husband is a great guy, but I'll bet you already know that!!

Post a review after you've used it and tell us what you think!!

When I said the letter "r" above, I meant an uppercase "R". Just wanted to clarify that!!

I have the big Xyron 510 and it is awesome for adhering letters and diecuts. For the big one, you just run the paper through before you cut it. Unfortunately, you wind up with a lot of waste this way.

Perhaps I should think about getting the create a sticker for my die cut letters.

So funny because as I was reading I was thinking "she needs a Xyron" lol..they are great, I have all of them..if you're looking at getting a bigger one as well I would reccomend the 510 it does everything that the 900 does except a little smaller...and how often do you really need to make something 9 inches wide stick to something?...glad you like it!

My mom loves hers too. I just think it's kind of costly and I seem to waste a lot!!! You enjoy!!
