Stamping Classes

I started stamping a few months ago -- no guidance in my efforts, just trial and error. Sometimes I have been pleased with my efforts and at other times I filled the trash can. This being said, I decided to take two stamping classes this week at my LSS .

The first class was Monday evening, Stamping for Beginners. OMG, I had no idea that there were so many different kinds of stamp pads for different uses. I thought a stamp pad is a stamp pad; little did I know. I left there totally confused and wondering how am I ever going to keep all this straight in my poor addled brain.

Tuesday evening was a Stamping Techniques class. We made a mini birthday album and suddenly the different stamp pads began to make sense. I had lots of fun at this class even though my finished product certainly looks like a beginner's effort. I will definitely take more of their Stamping Techniques classes.

Karen, our instructor, had everything cut and ready for us. We just had to do the stamping and assembly. Here are some pictures of my finished product.

The cover page and back page.........

Here a few of the inside pages (I didn't take pictures of all the pages).........

Addie's 4th birthday is later this month so I will use pictures from her party to complete the album and give it to her.

Have a safe 4th of July holiday. I am taking vacation days Monday and Tuesday so I will have a nice long 5 day weekend! Hope to get some major housecleaning done along with lots of creative time.

Luck, love and laughter,

Judy

I still get confused with all of the inks! I basically use dye ink or classic ink. I still have a problem with pigment ink -- it stays wet too long, and it's mostly used for embossing (I think). I recently started using those little chalk inks, and I love them for distressing.

Anyway, your project is very cute! Looks like it was fun to make!

Your project is so cute and you did a great job. Beware!!! Stmping is very addicting. Hope to see more of your stamping soon.

I like to stamp and only got into it with my one friend who was a stamper. I don't know all about the inks, I just use stayz on when I don't want it to run and pretty colors when I don't care (and the special embossing stuff when I'm embossing).
